I retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service and multiple years in Iraq. One of my duties in combat was to direct K9 handlers and teams to clear routes and structures of explosives to keep our troops safe. After I retired, I was dealing with PTSD and associated combat related issues. I realized that I needed a new purpose in life - a new mission. I already owned and trained two Belgian Malinois’ and had competed in a number of sport dog clubs and competitions. At that time I decided I would make canines and canine training the remainder of my life’s work.
I am certified by the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, International Association of Canine Professionals, American Kennel Club, and I’ve studied at length with many national and world champions of dog sports.
